if anyone knows how to get a linksys wag54gs wifi router working then let me know. im stumpted. wired internet works fine – wifi and the setup panel are frustration inducing.

I’ve got a WRT54GS working – what’s the difference with the WAT?
well – i got the wireless working one time – but a laptop (winxp finnish) couldnt connect to it for some reason, i had security installed and i had a key defined but it just wouldnt accept it. plus when i did have it going, the access to the 192.168 web setup screen was pretty tempremental – sometimes working – sometimes not.
i might need your help for a little bit if you’re free some night this week.
You didn’t happen to have MAC filtering enabled by any chance ? I have the same router & after a few weeks of working perfectly, it started giving me trouble.
Right now I’m not using as I went back to a wired setup, but I wouldn’t mind getting that damn WiFi working again.
in the end i gave up with the router (the wireless stopped working again after chris (see first comment) helped me out one night). so i took the router back and got a different type (zxyel or however its spelt). its worked perfect since – wireless and wired.
Yes the wag45gs seems to be a pretty bad revision. I’ve narrowed down my problem to an overheating problem as when I turn it off for a couple of hours, it works fine. After a few hours, the WiFi goes down again.
The worst thing is that it’s in a pretty well ventilated area & we’re not even in the summer yet.
Think I’m gonna bring it back too.
